We pass this bakery quite a few times in a week and we always look through the window oohing and aahing at the goodies, but J never gets one. On our very last day in Santiago, we had a bit of Chilean money we had to use up, so J finally broke down and got himself a treat. (more…)
On our way to the humongous Parque Arauco Mall in Las Condes, we walked through the rose garden. It is absolutely free and the roses there are beautiful. I really enjoyed that part of our walk and wish we lived closer so that we could visit it more often. (more…)

We took a little stroll around the coastal town of Valparaiso, Chile. Here the houses are crammed in so close, the buildings are multi-colored, and the streets have an old time feel because of the cobble stones. It’s a neat little area that is full of charm. (more…)
We spent some time hanging out in Vina del Mar and had a quick lunch while on our tour. According to the guide, the flower clock was a gift from Switzerland for the World Soccer Cup in 1962. It’s an actual working clock and the dial consists of flowers and plants! (more…)
In between Vina Del Mar and Valparaiso there is a small little tiny area where you can find wild sea lions sunbathing on the rocks. Our tour guide made a short stop so that we could jump down onto the beach and get a closer look. (more…)
It is such a drastic change once you reach the end of the tunnel and into Casablanca Valley. In Santiago, a lot of the landscape is dry and sandy so seeing all this greenery perks us right up. (more…)
J and I went for Korean food while in Santiago, Chile. Sukine received a lot of great reviews, plus it was walking distance from our place in Bella Artes. J is such a great sport – he’s not a big fan of Korean food, but took his wife anyway because he knows I enjoy it.
